THE MUSIC VIDEOS AND FICTION ARE BACK; MAJOR CHANGES IN THE WORKS

Good news, the music video and fiction archives are back up and running. A new fan creativity archive is in the works and nearing the testing phase. The biggest change is that Scapers will have the option of posting their music videos directly to the Farscape Fantasy server, whenever and how ever many they wish. More details coming soon.

Thank you to all Scapers who have supported this site. Your efforts have been successful, the future of Farscape Fantasy is secure for at least another year. If you would like to learn more about how Scapers saved this site, click here >>

SCAPERS SAVE FARSCAPE FANTASY; DALLASCAPER FRELLS UP THE SERVER
23 June 2004 @ 8:10 PM

Last month, I asked help from Scapers in keeping Farscape Fantasy going, and Scapers responded: We raised over $1600 in eight days for server expenses. With the site future secure, we are now turning our attention toward making the site better than ever. LithiumDoll is working on a new creativity archive, which will be complete soon. Unfortunately, I changed the server settings yesterday, increasing the site disk quota from 10 gigs to "unlimited," which frelled up the data tables. To our luck, LithiumDoll had already backed up the data, so it's just a matter of undoing the mess I made (not an easy task) and uploading the data. The music videos and fiction archive should be back soon.

Farscape executive producer Brian Henson confirmed during his chat with Scapers last night that the miniseries will premiere on Sci Fi in October or November. Stay tuned...

"The future of Farscape depends on the mini." - Brian Henson

Brian adds, "And we should all put our heads together to come up with ways to get the word out to everyone in the country, two weeks before the mini airs on SCIFI."

I think Scapers can accommodate Brian's suggestion, don't you?

10th March 2004 @12:15 AM Ben Browder on NBC

Ben Browder played seventies heartthrob Lee Majors on NBC's Behind the Camera: The Unauthorized Story of Charlie's Angels last Monday night. I taped the show, and intended to share some photos with you. But my VCR malfunctioned, and my efforts to salvage the tape have failed. Though I missed the show, reports from other Scapers is that Ben made everyone proud.

Benbrowder-online.com has a very interesting interview with Jack Condon [link to his site], the author of "The Charlie's Angel's Casebook," the book the movie is based on. Jack has some comments on Ben, his conduct on the set and his preparation for the character. Click Here to read the interview.

1st March 2004 @11:24 PM Want more confirmation the mini is coming?

Image Creative Partnership [link], the company behind many of Farscape's most memorable creatures and makeup, has some interesting things to say about the upcoming mini:

We once again have assumed the identity of the Henson Creature shop in Sydney and are in the final throes of the Farscape Mini Series, only a couple of weeks to go till completion. We have produced 22 episodes worth of work in 4 mini-movies, so get ready for Farscape on Acid! It's been an experience we will never forget.

We are loving being in our new workshop in Mascot, Sydney. It seemed so huge when we first moved in back in November. Since then it's been filled with crazy activity.
Because of the workload, we have taken on quite
a number of new creature crew. They have been fantastic
and we would like to congratulate everybody on a hard job,
brilliantly done.

If you haven't been to their site, I strongly suggest visiting -
the images and background information is a treat for every Scaper.

4.12 Kansas: Crichton goes home, but it's not the homecoming he wanted.
4.13 Terra Firma: This time Crichton's homecoming is as we always expected, only better.
4.14 Twice Shy: Chiana goes shopping again, the crew will regret it.

9th February 2004 @ 12:15 AM Farscape music vids: Big as Texas!

The Farscape Fantasy web server is located in Texas, and you know what they say about the Lone Star State. Everything is big in Texas! We are the biggest state in the union (that Alaska place doesn't count because it's too far north), we have the biggest roaches, the biggest hair, and THE BIGGEST FRELLING COLLECTION OF FARSCAPE MUSIC VIDEOS ON THE NET!!

Just posted Lithiumdoll's very entertaining Let Me Entertain You, which is the 300th music video hosted by this site. The archive started less than three years ago, yet Scapers never cease to amaze with their creativity. I am receiving more vids from Scapers now than I did when the series was still new.

In case you're wondering, this site is currently utilizing less than 10% of its available server space, and less than 20% of it's available monthly data transfer allocation. In other words, we have plenty of room to grow. If you're a vidder, keep sending the videos in, Scapers want more!

31 January 2004 @ 9:31 PM Rockne speaks...

Rockne O'Bannon, Farscape series creator, sent the folks at Watchfarscape.com a little email today. Here's what he wrote:

Hi WatchFarscapers,
A quick shout out from the fringes of the Uncharteds -- just to say a loud and sustained Thank You for your continuing passion for and efforts on behalf of The Little SF Show That Could. As I mentioned at the Farscape Con in Burbank, David Kemper and I spent last Fall working on a secret project -- well, the most unsecret of secret projects. And though I cannot confirm or deny anything, let's just say that your undying efforts to keep awareness of a certain television series alive within the entertainment community is the singular reason why a particular unnamed project is now halfway through production. On behalf of everyone currently working on -- oops, almost said it! -- well, on behalf of everybody working on SOMETHING down in Sydney, Australia, a resounding Thank You. Here's hoping you'll all be pleased with the fruits of your efforts. Cheers, Rockne

25 January 2004 @ 12:01 AM: Are Scapers disappearing?

The recent announcement that Karlsweb, one of the longtime, great Farscape fan sites is no longer going to be updated is raising the issue as to whether our online community is fading away. The fact is that Farscape sites are disappearing, fan fic authors are fading away, and Farscape is generating less news today than it did a year ago. However, while our community may be a bit smaller now compared to a year ago, it's still very active and it's evolving, much like the Internet itself. More >>

We haven't seen much information regarding the new mini series in over a month. However, IMDB has a complete list of the cast (click here), and as expected the whole gang is there.
Speculation is that the series will include elements from the fourth season episodes, What Was Lost parts 1 & 2 and the mystery of Arnessk. There's an interesting thread over at Kansas that explores Tammy Macintosh's (Jool) roll in the upcoming series.

Scapers get their show back, but questions remain

19 November 2003 @ 12:15 AM
Scapers, it looks like Farscape will return in 2004 as a four-hour miniseries. Production is set to begin in December at the Fox Studios in Sydney, the same place where the series started four years ago. The regular cast will return to their familiar rolls. However, until Henson makes its official announcement, questions remain.

- Who will broadcast the new show? Sci-Fi? Not likely. HBO or Showtime? Possibly. Syndication? Could be.
- One rumor has it that the mini-series will be a "stand alone" story, while another describes it as an "epic conclusion" to the Farscape story. I can see one or the other, but not both.
-Are there plans to continue the show after the mini-series is broadcast?
-What impact did Scapers have in saving the show?

Right now, The Jim Henson Company is finalizing details that will bring the show back. Once they are ready, hopefully sometime this week, we will no doubt get answers to our questions. Until then, Scapers can pat themselves on the back for a job well done: the most amazing fan campaign to resurrect a TV show in history.

FARSCAPE NEWS ARCHIVE NOVEMBER 2003:

17 November 2003 @ 12:58 AM
Scapers who attended the official Farscape convention in Burbank, California this weekend are reporting in with some interesting tales. As expected, there was no official word on Farscape from Henson, but the atmosphere for both the cast and attendees was festive and far more upbeat than last year. Here are a couple of threads from the FMD board you may want to check out:

B Sharp reports, Rockne appeared on the stage with a piece of red tape covering his mouth, and after taking it off, he said that "I talked with Brian, and there are some I's that not yet dotted and some T's that need to be crossed, so, I just can't say anything".

Devnull has a slew of con photos for your enjoyment. Looks like everyone had a great time.
